Lipödem und Ernährung. Was wirklich hilft...

Can nutrition really help with lipedema?

Kathrin Back

Many affected people ask themselves this question, and I can say from my own experience: Yes, at least to some extent!

Since I changed my diet, a lot has changed: the swelling has gone down, the pain has lessened, and I have noticeably more energy in my everyday life.

What's particularly helpful for me: lots of fresh, colorful vegetables and fruit, healthy fats like avocado and flaxseed, as little sugar as possible, no processed foods, and as few animal products as possible. I also make a conscious effort to maintain a healthy balance of omega-3 fatty acids and a sufficient intake of plant-based proteins.

But it's also important to me: every body reacts differently. What helps me doesn't necessarily help you. Don't see nutrition as a miracle cure, but rather as a powerful companion on your lipedema journey. And above all: don't let it drive you crazy. It's not about perfection, it's about what's good for you.
